Heritage Signs

For more than 20 years Rivermeade has been privileged to have been appointed as the sole supplier of signs to English Heritage. The signs we make fall into 2 broad categories:

  • Interpretive signs - which explain what a visitor's looking at
  • Operational signs - are specific to a particular site which often require updating every year

Working with English Heritage we have developed sign types that meet the requirements of durability (many sites are in exposed position) and cost effectiveness.

Historical site signs

Our work with English Heritage has been a foundation for design and manufacturing sign projects for many other heritage sites such as Salisbury Cathedral, Pitzhanger Manor, Haddon Hall, Somerset House and Castle Howard. Our signs are very carefully designed, beautifully made and will last for many years. We work with many of the specialist designers in this area who rely on us to provide advice on materials, methods of manufacture and fixings.

Rivermeade holds ISO 9001:2015 Quality, ISO 14001:2015 Environment and ISO 45001:2018 SSIP Health & Safety accreditations. Our work can include the design, development, manufacture, and installation of internal, external, and digital signs for heritage signs.

We are sign manufacturing experts and can help with your next heritage sign project. Call us on 0208 896 6900 or fill in the form on our Contact Us page to start discussing your project requirements. We also invite you to look at our portfolio to see some of our past projects.
